Doctoral Students Take On 3MT Challenge

Carnegie Mellon University’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) pits doctoral students against the clock and each other to explain complex research and captivate their audience in just three minutes. Nine finalists will compete in the 3MT Championship on Thursday, March 14, at 6 p.m., in the Tepper School of Business’s Simmons Auditorium A. A livestream will also be available.

Open Source Design Opportunity for Students at Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC)

A team of six students, with sponsorship from an industry partner, will design and build small clusters, learn scientific applications, and apply optimization techniques for their chosen architectures. Participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge in open source research computing, form valuable relationships with leaders in academia and industry, and attend prominent conferences.

Event Recording: Heading to the Point: A Journey through History

On November 15, the University Libraries and Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer Wanda Heading-Grant hosted "Heading to the Point: A Journey through History, Exploring the Black Urban Experience in Pittsburgh." The event featured a conversation between Heading-Grant and Giant Eagle University Professor of History and Social Justice Joe William Trotter, Jr. A recording of the event is now available.

SAE Mobilus Discovery Contest

CMU Libraries has joined the SAE Mobilus Discovery Contest, competing with other universities to build awareness around SAE technical content, share best practices on using the SAE Mobilus platform, and boost subscription content usage.
