CMU Students Travel to Geneva for UN Meeting on Disarmament

In one of many ongoing efforts to reduce the destruction caused by landmines globally, three Carnegie Mellon University students were selected by Mines Action Canada and CMU’s Sustainability Initiative to visit the United Nations and participate in the 21st Meeting of the States Parties to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction.

DEI Book Display: Black History Month

February is Black History month, where the focus is on the experiences and history of African Americans, both as a whole and as individuals. Celebrating a rich cultural heritage, it is an opportunity to spotlight the achievements that African Americans have accomplished in this country, despite the long and continuing history of racism and oppression. How the Evidence Synthesis Service Team Helped Bring High Quality, Rigorous Systematic Reviews to Business and Management

The University Libraries’ Evidence Synthesis Service team has offered their expertise to a number of complex, long-term projects taking place across campus. Over the past several years, librarians Sarah Young and Ryan Splenda have collaborated with H.J. Heinz II University Professor of Organizational Behavior and Public Policy Denise Rousseau on a systematic review that explored chief executive compensation and its effects on firm financial performance and inaccurate financial reporting. Their work on this project will serve as a proof-of-concept for conducting high quality systematic reviews in business and management.

Redivis, A New Cloud Platform for Data

CMU Libraries is launching a trial of Redivis, a dynamic data collaboration platform built on the open-science toolkit. CMU researchers may upload datasets (up to 1TB each for free) to the Redivis platform, share datasets with collaborators, and analyze and visualize their data in real-time.
