CMU doctoral candidates of every level can register to participate in the 2025 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition for the chance to gain early career recognition, connect with the campus community, and win prizes of up to $3,000.

New Open Access Journal Eligibility Checker

CMU Libraries is excited to announce a new tool to search journals for Open Access support. The Libraries has Open Access agreements with various publishers. This new platform can help authors to navigate the agreements and search for journals in one space. Authors can also see if their journal is instead eligible for the Libraries APC funds.

University Libraries to Lead the Future of CMU’s Press and Publishing Services

In a message to the Carnegie Mellon University community, Provost and Chief Academic Officer James H. Garrett Jr. announced that all university press activities, including the Carnegie Mellon University Press, ETC Press and the Library Publishing Service (LPS), will now be centralized in one home under the University Libraries, effective June 1, 2024.

5 Years of KiltHub

Carnegie Mellon University’s institutional repository, Kilthub, was launched in July 2018. It replaced and improved upon the previous research repository, Research Showcase@CMU, which had been active for ten years. All content from Research Showcase was migrated into the KiltHub system, preserving metadata and usage statistics.
