On October 29, the Libraries celebrated spooky season and the start of sweater weather with a fall installment of the new “Hands-On” series. More than 50 attendees joined for a crafternoon of autumnal activities, including pumpkin painting, ghostly garland making, and creating seasonal suncatchers. They also had the opportunity to indulge in some culinary classics like apple cider, Halloween candy, and a build-your-own dirt cup bar.
The Libraries’ signature Hands-On event series is inspired by both creativity and community, offering the time, space, and resources to log off your computer and tap into your imagination. When you attend a Hands-On event, you can expect themed crafts, DIY activities, and snacks to help you (re)connect with your creative side.
Join us for the next event, “Hands-On: Cake and Crafts,” Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8 to celebrate CMU’s 125th birthday with the University Archives. The Archives will showcase treasured pieces from their collection, highlighting student organizations and cherished traditions alongside retro artifacts and athletic memorabilia. Guests will have the opportunity to personalize their own birthday crown or party hat. This collaborative event with the Integrative Design, Arts, and Technology (IDeATe) network also offers an opportunity to learn more about IDeATe’s interdisciplinary student work and unique immersive course events.
