Open Index Tracker

Explore the changing landscape of open knowledge

The Open Index Tracker is an evolving, interactive dataset that brings together key open knowledge resources, reports, milestones and initiatives in one place.

Designed as both a discovery tool and a curated record of the open initiative, the Tracker helps users explore how open data, open access and related practices have developed over time. It also creates a foundation for future analysis and reporting through the Open Index.

About the Tracker

The Open Index Tracker brings together selected resources from the last few decades to help document and understand developments across the open landscape.

The Tracker is curated and evolving rather than comprehensive. Entries are selected for their value in documenting significant developments, infrastructure and conversations related to open knowledge. The Tracker will continue to grow as additional materials are identified.
