In honor of the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the Carnegie Mellon University Libraries and the Department of English is pleased to announce Frankenstein: Fantasies & Failures – A Short Film Competition.
Carnegie Mellon students (either as individuals or teams) may submit a film no more than five minutes long dealing with some aspect of technology – terrifying or enlightening, positive or negative, passionate or ambiguous. Films must be submitted for judging by November 30th and selected entries will be screened at an event to be held on December 6th. The winning entries will receive funding to submit their film to the festival (or festivals) of their choice.
- First place prize - $200 towards film festival submission fees
- Second place prize - $100 towards film festival submission fees
