Open Science Data Collaborations (OSDC) Research Consultant
The Carnegie Mellon University Libraries' Open Science & Data Collaborations (OSDC) program is seeking a motivated Graduate Research Consultant who is passionate about helping the research community and interested in using research data for the social good. You will be working and interacting with a wide range of groups, including librarians, researchers from across disciplines, students, and other units on campus to provide data consultations on their projects. The position requires hands-on experience and knowledge of Python and R programming languages to troubleshoot errors. This is an 8 hour part-time, student-only position, for the Fall semester with the flexibility to occasionally work remotely on campus.

University Libraries, Student Libraries Assistant
The University Libraries’ Access Services team is currently hiring students to assist with the following library related tasks:

  • Circulation of library materials.
  • Helping patrons locate information both in print and online.
  • Processing of patron physical and digital requests.
  • Providing courier services between libraries.
  • Performing collection maintenance duties such as removing holds, shelving, shifting, shelf-reading and weeding of materials.
  • Provide routine maintenance for equipment in the public spaces (workstations, public printers, and scanners).
  • Helps full-time staff to maintain a clean, quiet, and safe environment for patrons on the floor.
  • Other projects as assigned.
  • Salary starts at $9.25/hour.
