WWI and Mellon Institute

This November is the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, the end of World War I. To mark the occasion, Project Archivist Emily Davis dug into the early history of the Mellon Institute of Industrial Research to highlight some of the work that was carried out there during World War I. Established in 1913, the Mellon Institute was roughly a year old when war broke out in Europe in 1914.

Spatial Storytelling Series

The University Libraries at CMU invites you to attend a workshop and kick-off event to introduce our Spatial Storytelling Series. The Spatial Storytelling Series is a series of events and workshops on spatial storytelling. These events support broader interaction between members of the CMU community who engage in any aspect of spatial storytelling. We hope to promote critical engagement with spatial data and concepts and learn how we can best support research and student learning by supporting the creation of spatial narratives.
