Ole Villadsen has 25+ years of experience with researching, analyzing, managing, and presenting information. He was appointed in 2016 to the Carnegie Mellon University Libraries as the research liaison for cybersecurity and information systems. In this role, he assists students, faculty and staff with their research on cybersecurity topics, manages the selection of cybersecurity resources, and conducts research on topics related to cybersecurity and information science.
Ole began his career as a US Navy officer where he supported US and Coalition combat operations in the Middle East and Balkans. He later served for over 15 years in the federal government in a variety of roles, including analyst, team leader, program manager, and tradecraft instructor. Ole has an M.S. in Information Science from the University of Tennessee, an M.A. in National Security Studies from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
