Welcome, Jennifer Fularz, Accounting and Financial Assistant

Jennifer Fularz in front of Hunt Library

Please join us in welcoming Jennifer Fularz to the Carnegie Mellon University Libraries as Accounting and Financial Assistant.

Prior to joining the Libraries, Jennifer was Accounts Payable Specialist at Shaler Area School District managing purchase orders, paying vendors and processing expense reimbursements for the district. Previously I worked at Penn State New Kensington serving as the Bursar and Senior Support Financial Assistant; managing student accounts, department accounts such as purchasing, reimbursements, and maintaining budgets.

We asked Jennifer, who uses she/her/hers pronouns, a few questions about herself, and her plans for her new role.

What are you goals for this year as our new Accounting and Financial Assistant?

I like to connect with people and learn as much as I can about the UEIS structure and goals. Learning financial systems, processes and to be a support to the team is my priority.

How has your prior experience prepared you for this role at the Carnegie Mellon University Libraries?

I have spent more than 20 years at Penn State University in various roles such as managing two bookstores, the campus Bursar, and Senior Support Financial Assistant at Penn State New Kensington. I have worked with various financial operation systems, most notably SAP.

What projects are you excited to tackle in your first few months?

Anything to support and assist UIES in purchasing, reimbursements, answer budgeting questions.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love to go camping with my husband and daughter in our RV. We hope one day to travel across the U.S. and explore our state parks. I also enjoy going to the beach, visiting museums, baking and reading.
