Transforming Hunt Library

Hundreds of students pass through Hunt Library on any given day. But how many of them really think about the building they’re in?

That’s exactly what undergraduate students in the architecture studio "Foundation II" did for their spring semester project. Associate Professor of Architecture Kai Gutschow gave them the task of designing a small addition or insertion into Hunt Library that will help transform a portion the library and how the patrons use and experience it. The project allows students to reimagine a familiar building, while putting to use lessons they’ve learned in the first part of the course.
