Liaison Librarians at Carnegie Mellon
  • Each academic department or research program has a liaison librarian.
  • Contact your liaison about any library-related issue.
  • Liaison librarians:
    • Develop and maintain the library collections for their subject areas
    • Provide subject-oriented library instruction for small groups and classes
    • Assist individuals with specialized subject research

Use Services in the Library Catalog
  • ID and PIN are required to access Cameo services:
    • CARNEGIE MELLON ID - your 9-digit Carnegie Mellon ID number typed without dashes. EXAMPLE 825055971

      If you don't know your Carnegie Mellon ID, ask at any circulation desk, or at The HUB in Warner Hall.



    • ANDREW ID - your Andrew ID typed in uppercase without domain. EXAMPLE joan@andrew.cmu.edu is entered JOAN.

    • PIN - the last four digits of your Carnegie Mellon ID number is your assigned PIN. Change your PIN to improve your library account security.

      Select an all-numeric PIN if you want to use SelfCheck (self-service checkout) at Hunt or Mellon Institute Library.

Faculty Senate Libraries Advisory Committee
  • The Libraries Advisory Committee monitors the progress of library facilities and services at Carnegie Mellon.
  • Committee is composed of no fewer than seven members, appointed from the Faculty Organization.
  • One member is designated chair for a one-year term by the chair of the Faculty Organization.
  • The University Librarian and one other administrative officer active in the provision of library services are ex officiis members.
  • Current committee membership (listed in Faculty Senate "Who's Who")
