Can I renew items?
Yes. Renew library materials so that you can keep them longer and avoid fines.

• Use any of three options to renew materials:
  
  1. Click "User Self Service" in Cameo and follow instructions.
     
  2. Send email to library-renew@cmu.edu. Include:
     • Your name and Carnegie Mellon ID number
     • The title and call number of the item you want to renew
     • The date due (shown on the date due receipt for the item)

  3. Bring the item and your Carnegie Mellon ID to circulation.
     
     
• What if the item is already overdue?
  
  • You can renew an overdue item, but you still must pay any overdue fine accumulated before renewal.
    
    
• Is there anything that I can't renew?
  
  • Journals (magazines), DVDs, and course reserves cannot be renewed.
  • If someone else has requested the item you have checked out, it cannot be renewed.
    
    
• How do I know if the item has been renewed or not?
  
  • The library will confirm the renewal, or let you know if there is a problem with it.
