FAQ and Info

How to Use Services in the Library Catalog
  • Carnegie Mellon users can see their library account information, renew items, change PIN, and access other library services via buttons in the library catalog (Cameo).

  • About Cameo services
  • ID and PIN are required to access Cameo services:
    • CARNEGIE MELLON ID - Your Carnegie Mellon ID number typed without dashes. EXAMPLE 815055971

If you don't know your Carnegie Mellon ID, ask at any circulation desk, or at The HUB in Warner Hall.

    • ANDREW ID - your Andrew ID typed in uppercase without domain. EXAMPLE joan@andrew.cmu.edu is entered JOAN.

    • PIN - Your assigned PIN is the last four digits of your Carnegie Mellon ID number.

You can change your PIN in Cameo at any time. Your PIN can be 4-10 numbers and/or letters.

Select an all-numeric PIN if you want to use SelfCheck (self-service checkout) at Hunt or Mellon Institute Library.
