Undergraduate Research Initiative provides information about current research and research opportunities at Carnegie Mellon.

The site includes the Research Directory, which lists Carnegie Mellon faculty and their research interests; and describes how undergraduates can become involved and obtain support for their own research, including Small Undergraduate Research Grants (SURG).

The Undergraduate Research Initiative is housed in the office of the Associate Provost for Academic Projects and is made possible through the generosity of the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations, Merck, Inc., Allied Signal, GM Foundations, Andersen Consulting, the Donald E. Stitzenberg (S '63) Undergraduate Research Fund, the William H. and Frances S. Ryan Undergraduate Research Fund, the Natale A. Christiano (E'39) Undergraduate Research Fund, and faculty, staff, and alumni contributors.
