Historical
New York Times (ProQuest Historical News) allows users to search
historical full-text. Using this database, you can search for names, events
and concepts chronicled in the New York Times for nearly two centuries.
See a summary of the article as well as an image of the article or the entire
page of the newspaper. You will be connected to the Advanced Word Search,
where, by using the Date option at the bottom of the screen, you can
limit your search to particular dates.
A work in progress, this database is 90% complete, providing coverage from 1851
to 2003.
The Adobe
Acrobat Reader is required to display ProQuest Direct full-text and images,
and a laser printer is required to print them.
