The Library of Congress Catalogs include bibliographic records for books, serials, music and sound recordings, cartographic materials, visual materials, computer files, manuscripts, thesauri of names and subjects, in-process books, NUC 1982-1993, PreMARC, catalog records from some other research libraries, and records for some bibliographies. You can also search non-catalog files including records for federal legislation, copyright information, braille and audio, and foreign law.

Items listed in Library of Congress catalogs may or may not be owned by Carnegie Mellon libraries. If Carnegie Mellon does not own an item, you can request it through interlibrary loan. See Services: Resource Sharing: Interlibrary Loan.
