National Library of the Environment is a free, non-advocacy online environmental information service managed by the Committee for the National Institute for the Environment (CNIE), a non-profit organization. CNIE's mission is to improve the scientific basis for making decisions on environmental issues through the successful operation of a National Institute for the Environment (NIE).

The service provides daily news coverage on environmental issues; access to congressional reports and briefing books, laws and treaties, educational resources; information about jobs & careers, meetings; over 300 links to journals (some full text), virtual topic libraries, reference materials; and much more.
