Carnegie Mellon members have borrowing priveleges at various local libraries. You can check out books at most University of Pittsburgh libraries by showing a current Carnegie Mellon ID. For other libraries, such as Duquesne University, get a form from the Hunt Library or E&S Library reference desk to take with you.

This database contains bibliographic citations to about 400 English language periodicals and yearbooks published in the United States and elsewhere. It covers all areas and levels of education such as administration, teaching methods and curriculum, literacy, government funding, etc.
- ERIC - Educational Resources Information Center (Carnegie Mellon users only)
ERIC contains bibliographic citations and abstracts to journal articles, research and technical reports, conference papers and proceedings, program descriptions, teaching guides, lesson plans, etc. It covers all areas and levels of education such as reading and communications skills, languages and linguistics, and tests & measurements. Hillman Library at the University of Pittsburgh has the full-text of these documents on microfiche. The ERIC database also can be searched via the Internet at http://www.eric.ed.gov/.
- ProQuest Direct (Carnegie Mellon users only)
ProQuest covers a wide variety of topics and is a good database for interdisciplinary searching.
- Wilson Select Plus (Carnegie Mellon users only)
The database contains citations, abstracts, and full-text articles of 800+ periodicals covered in five periodical indexes: Readers Guide Abstracts, Social Sciences Abstracts, Humanities Abstracts, General Science Abstracts, and Wilson Business Abstracts.
