Databases

Book Review Index is a comprehensive online guide to book reviews with over five million review citations from thousands of publications.

Contemporary Authors (CA) supplies biographical and bibliographical information and references on over 120,000 American and international authors.

Early English Books Online (EEBO) is a searchable full text database of over 95,000 titles published between 1475 and 1700. Over 125,000 titles anticipated (new titles are added each year). Searchable by author, title, subject & imprint information.

Expanded Academic ASAP (in InfoTrac Web) has citations, abstracts, and selected full-text articles from scholarly and general journals covering all academic disciplines.

Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts provides indexing and abstracting of 1199 international journals in linguistics and language use from 1973 to the present. An important source for researchers in language teaching, linguistics, discourse studies, computer science, psychology, and more. Print also available in HUNT REF-1 INDEXES.

Literature Resource Center (in Infotrac Web) provides access to biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of authors from every age and literary discipline. The Literature Resource Center covers more than 120,000 novelists, poets, essayists, journalists, and other writers, with in-depth coverage of 2,500 of the most-studied authors. Our licence allows only one user at a time. Be sure to log-out when you are done.

MLA International Bibliography is the premiere reference tool for the critical study of language, literature, and folkore. It provides citations to books, book chapters, periodical articles, and dissertations in all languages for all periods beginning with the Middle Ages.

ProQuest Direct provides convenient search and retrieval from thousands of publications. Many articles are in full-text and image format.

Global Books in Print allows users to search for information about individual titles, publishers, awards (book, audio book, and video), current and past bestsellers, as well as biographical information.

Wilson Biographies contains the full text of the articles from various biographical reference books published by H. W. Wilson in current affairs, history, literature, children's literature, music, film, and art.


Catalogs

Cameo is the Carnegie Mellon online catalog. Also see: How To Use Cameo.

WorldCat has over 36 million records of any type of material cataloged by libraries worldwide. Includes manuscripts written as early as the 11th century.

PittCat contains bibliographic records for more than one million books, microforms, periodicals and sound recordings owned by libraries at the University of Pittsburgh. Carnegie Mellon users can borrow directly from most of the University of Pittsburgh's Libraries. HUNT REF-1 INDEXES
Provides citations and abstracts for articles in the area of English studies. Overlaps considerably with MLA International Bibliography.

Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts. 1967- (quarterly).
HUNT REF-1 INDEXES
Provides citations and abstracts for books, articles, and dissertations in the areas of "language behavior, linguistics, and related disciplines," including discourse analysis and rhetoric.
