      1954- (updated daily)
      Contains citations and full text from about 95% of all ACM journals, newsletters, and conference proceedings.

  • Applied Science and Technology Index (Carnegie Mellon users only)

      1983- (updated monthly)
      Covers engineering, mathematics, physics, and computer technology. Includes articles, interviews, meetings, conferences, exhibitions, new product reviews/announcements, and more.

  • CiteSeer

      This is a scientific literature digital library and search engine that focuses primarily on computer and information science. You can view the most cited authors and documents in computer science, as well as impact ratings. CiteSeer attempts to provide algorithms, metadata, services, techniques, and software that can be used in other digital libraries.

  • EI Compendex (Carnegie Mellon users only)
      1884- (updated weekly)
      Covers journal articles, technical reports, conference papers and proceedings in such engineering areas as: computing, electrical, solid state physics and superconductivity, bioengineering, optics, as well as most other fields of engineering. In 2004, we purchased the backfiles for this database expanding the searchable citations back to 1884.

  • FedBizOpps (Carnegie Mellon users only)

    Lists notices of proposed government procurement actions, contract awards, sales of government property, and other procurement information. A new edition is issued every business day, containing approximately 500 - 1,000 notices.

  • GlobalSpec (formerly: IC Index)
  • IEEE Xplore (Carnegie Mellon users only)
      1988- (updated daily)
      Full-text access to IEEE transactions, journals, and conference proceedings and IEE journals, as well as all current IEEE standards. They are in the process of adding older materials on a gradual basis.

  • INFORMS PubsOnline (Carnegie Mellon users only)
      1988- (updating varies)
      Full text access to ten journal titles published by INFORMS, the professional association for operations research and management science. Articles focus on the use of information technology and the analysis of systems for use in decision making for a wide range of real-world applications.

  • INSPEC (Carnegie Mellon users only)
      1969- (updated weekly)
      Provides access to journals and conference proceedings in physics, electrical engineering and electronics, computing and control, and information technology.

  • Knovel: Answers for Science and Engineering (Carnegie Mellon users only)
      Contains interactive reference books and databases. Knovel has a database of many of the leading science and engineering reference handbooks, databases, and conference proceedings from publishers such as McGraw-Hill, Elsevier, John Wiley & Sons, ASME, SPE, and ASM International. Knovel's unique combination of aggregated information, proprietary analysis tools, and technology empowers users to attain information across multiple sources and information formats.

  • MathSciNet (Carnegie Mellon users only)
      1940- (updated daily)
      Provides access to Mathematical Reviews and Current Mathematical Publications.

  • NTIS (Carnegie Mellon users only)
      1964- (updated monthly)
      Covers government-sponsored research reports, conference proceedings, journal articles and more. It is also the means through which unclassified, publicly available research reports are made available for sale by agencies such as NASA, DOD and the EPA.

  • Web of Science (Carnegie Mellon users only)
      1945- (updated weekly)
      A multidisciplinary database, with searchable author abstracts, covering the literature of the sciences, social sciences and the arts & humanities. Includes Science Citation Index Expanded with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the sciences. It indexes more than 5,800 journals in 164 scientific disciplines. Includes cited references and cited references to patents. Over 18,000 new articles are added weekly.
