AccessScience,
the McGraw Hill Encyclopedia of Science and Technology on
the Web, provides access to articles, terms, and research updates in
all areas of science and technology. Includes biographies of leading
scientists through history, weekly updates on sci/tech breakthroughs
and discoveries, resources to guide research, and links for further
research.
ACD/Labs Online (I-Lab) is an Internet-based service for instant access to chemical databases and property predictions programs. With I-Lab access, you can obtain NMR spectra, get systematic chemical names, and predict properties such as pKa, logP, or solubility for the chemical structures drawn either directly within your browser or using ACD/ChemSketch, a powerful structure drawing tool that can be downloaded free from ACD/Labs.

Remote User Access

Interlibrary Loan Service
A free service used to request books, articles, and other items from other libraries. Track your requests & renew your ILL books on ILLIAD. A one time regisration is required to create your account. Access ILLIAD on the library homepage under User Services.
Contents Email Alerts
You can receive email alerts of
tables of contents about particular topics from your favorite
journals. The most wide-ranging service Carnegie Mellon users can
access is through ingenta (formerly Carl UnCover Reveal). For a modest fee, this service
provides alerts for over 26,000 journals and conference proceedings. You may receive alerts on authors or topics as well as journal
titles.
