Image Scanning Instructions

  1. Place your image on the scanner glass.

  2. Open ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3 by double-clicking the Photoshop shortcut on the DESKTOP.

  3. After PHOTOSHOP CS3 loads, under the File menu, select IMPORT -> EPSON GT-15000. A group of windows opens, displaying the controls for the scanner.

  4. In the Epson Scan window, go to the Mode pull-down menu in the top right corner. Select "Professional Mode".

  5. Click PREVIEW. This will produce an image of the entire scanner glass.

  6. By holding down on the mouse, use the crosshair cursor to draw a square around the part of the image you would like to scan.

  7. Adjust your scanner settings in the left window, including the type of scan, the resolution, etc. (We recommend scanning at 72 DPI for images you will use on a monitor and 300 DPI for images you want to print.)

    NOTE:
Increasing the DPI when scanning will increase the quality, but will also increase the size of your file and your printing time.

  8. When you are satisfied with your settings, click SCAN. After scanning is complete, the image opens in Photoshop. You must click CLOSE in the Epson Scan window to continue.

  9. Save your image. Under the File menu, select SAVE AS. Name you file, choose a saving location (Desktop, your user folder, etc.), and designate a format (jpeg, psd, gif, etc.).

  10. When you are finished working with the image, close the application by selecting Exit under the File menu.

  11. Transfer your files. Files are regularly deleted from our computers.
