Digital Image Database (DID): |
|
A growing collection of over 9,100 high-resolution digital images from slides scans, book scans and purchased images. The primary focus of this collection is on the visual and performing arts (Carnegie Mellon users).
For Art:21 fans we have 93 images from Seasons 2 & 3 in the Digital Image Database (search by keyword: art:21).
Contemporary architecture: New 20th and 21st century high resolution images will be available online soon. Also inquire about available digital images by Herzog & de Meuron, Nouvel, Zumthor, & Piano that are PowerPoint-ready and available in the Visual Resources Collection, courtesy of Mary-Lou Arscott.
Modern Design: Recently acquired high resolution furniture images will be online soon.
Music: Portraits of composers will soon be available online in high resolution digital images.

Slide Collection: |
|
Consists of approximately 120,000 slides that have a primary focus on the visual arts and architecture (circulation available from Hunt Room 411 with Carnegie Mellon ID).
For Art:21 Fans we have slides from Seasons 1, 2 & 3 in the collection. Also 200 slides of Larry Qualls collection are available to view and check out.

1. ARTstor:
ARTstor is NOW EASIER TO USE! In addition, a new home page and user-friendly interface will roll out in June, 2008. (Carnegie Mellon users)
ARTstor is a digital image library with over 750,000 images pertaining to visual arts -- including design, architecture and archeology to name a few. Images can be downloaded at a large size for PowerPoint or their OIV viewer. You can also make a detail and then download it..
Larry Qualls archive of 100,000 images are being added to the collection, which documents contemporary art exhibitions from New York, and beyond.
ART on FILE collection has 9,100 images that focus on contemporary architecture and landscape architecture. It is just over 70% complete.

2. AP Photo Archive:
A digital image database containing regional, state, national and international news photographs. Also includes a selection of historical images added on a weekly basis (Carnegie Mellon users).
3. Corbis Images for Education: Historical Collection:
The Corbis Historical Collection contains over 400,000 digital images from its popular art, historical, nature, science, space and various other stock collections for use in a variety of learning-related applications. Image sources include the renowned Bettmann archive, the United Press International, and the Hulton-Deutsch Collection (Carnegie Mellon users).
