Library Information Technology (LIT) Projects

LIT projects have ranged from developing the distributed Library Information System (LIS) in Project Mercury to partnerships with outside vendors like Sirsi or Claritech to customizing software for the Libraries' needs, as we've done with WebZ and WebCat. In the future, LIT hopes to undertake research and development projects in collaboration with other Carnegie Mellon departments, universities, and with the private sector. With a full-time staff of 15 and both an Operations and an R&D department, LIT's experience is broad, including: software programming, human-computer interaction, software documentation, database management, and equipment service, installation and training.
