Carnegie Mellon Libraries: Giving Opportunities: Library Legacy

Library Legacy

Library Legacy gifts provide an affordable way to establish a named gift for the University Libraries without the high financial commitment required to establish an endowment. Legacy gifts can be established with four annual payments of $2500, for a total of $10,000. The legacy can be named in the first year, at your request, and will exist for the duration of the pledge.

Like the $25,000 Library Endowment, you can designate the legacy for a specific purpose. For example, you could specify that your legacy be used to benefit the University Archives, the Architecture Archives, or another library department; to establish a reading material fund; to undertake facility renovations, etc. Because Legacy gifts are not endowed, your gift will provide immediate support for the library. Annually, as the gift is spent, you will be kept informed as to how your legacy is helping the University Libraries.
