Carnegie Mellon Libraries: Giving Opportunities: Book Gift Fund

Book Gift Fund

Contributions to the Book Gift Fund are a great way to celebrate any occasion -- graduation, retirement, anniversary, birthday, or holiday -- and donations to this fund also make thoughtful memorial gifts. Book Gifts give you the opportunity to recognize a family member, colleague or friend while you also assist the development of broad and distinctive collections in the University Libraries. Book Gifts can target any collection of interest to you or the honoree.

For contributions to the Gift Book Fund, we select books in the academic field of your choice and mark each with a commemorative bookplate. The bookplate is a lasting reminder of both the occasion or tribute and your contribution to the University Libraries. We notify the honoree of your gift (or the family, in the case of memorial gifts) but the amount is not disclosed.

If you contribute a sum of $1000 or more to the Gift Book Fund at any time, you can request special material and format selections such as reference items, CD-ROMs, or online databases.

Donors of $1000 or more become members of the Andrew Carnegie Society, the university's annual giving society. Donors of $100 or more may apply for library borrowing privileges. All donors receive annual mailings from the library about current projects and initiatives.
