2006 Library Appreciation Party
EXCELLENT!
Gloria Henning - Excellence in Innovation
For leadership of the MetaLib implementation team as well as the Public Services Council. Gloria's nominator stated that Gloria consistently goes 'beyond the call,' and that she is organized and conscientious in her desire to serve the university. As a leader, she is always prepared. She is able to summarize complicated information, assuring that group members have the same understanding of an issue or a decision. "I really admire her dedication. ... She is a good example of the importance of working together with people from various departments toward accomplishing a common goal."
Ann Marie Mesco - Excellence in Library Citizenship
For personal commitment to library projects, groups and committee functions; most notably, commitment to success of offsite storage. Ann Marie's nominators stated that Ann Marie generously provides cookies for library events such as Staff Roundtable (support staff discussion group) and Brown Bag Lunch (library faculty or staff speak informally on topics of general interest) -- even sending treats by way of another staff member to events she was unable to attend. She is equally dedicated to the success of the library's offsite storage facility on Penn Avenue. "She has taken it upon herself to put in place measures that assist the library in meeting its advertised 24-hour turnaround time; including personally ferrying books to campus as needed."
